Snowflake Crisp
A fun no-bake Snow Crisp (雪花酥) inspired by the popular Taiwanese snack: soft, chewy, and lightly dusted with milk powder for a snowy finish. Made with melted marshmallows, butter, and your choice of cookies, nuts, and dried fruit, this easy recipe is endlessly customisable and perfect for a quick sweet treat or edible gift.
Ingredients:
60g unsalted butter
250g marshmallows
80g milk powder
100g dried strawberries
100g cookies of your choice, roughly broken or crushed
60g nuts of your choice
60g dried fruit (such as cranberries or raisins)
Instructions:
Melt the butter in a non-stick pan over low heat.
Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth.
Turn off the heat and quickly stir in the milk powder until evenly combined.
Add the strawberries, cookies, nuts, and dried fruit, folding gently until everything is well coated.
Transfer the mixture onto a sheet of baking paper. Lightly dust your hands with milk powder and gently shape the mixture into a rough rectangle.
Dust the top lightly with more milk powder, then use a rolling pin to gently roll and flatten to an even thickness. Dust again if needed to prevent sticking.
Leave to cool completely at room temperature, then cut into small squares or bars.
Optional: Dust with extra milk powder for a snowy finish ❄️
